PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY

SUMMARY

During my career I have worked as a Production Artist, Lead Artist, and Art Director. Specialising in environment modelling and texture painting, my work ranges from stylised to photorealistic. I work professionally and collaboratively, and am comfortable operating both under close direction, as well as independently and self-directed. With extensive leadership and outsourcing experience, I am capable of mentoring and supervising both large and small teams, internally and externally.

I have strong technical skills, combined with attention to detail and quality.
With expert knowledge of current techniques, technology and workflows, I work efficiently, and am able to rapidly make effective practical and aesthetic decisions, on both an individual and team-wide level.

INTERESTS

I have a healthy obsession with mountain biking and snowboarding, with a collection of injuries to prove it. I like to keep in shape through a combination of hiking, biking, and occasionally running.

I enjoy music, and have a broad range of tastes, from contemporary Pop/Rock, to 90's Grunge and Metal, to early Funk and Acid Jazz. I learned to play the drums a long time ago, and although I've long since given up playing in bands I still like to make some noise occasionally. I'd like to think that one day I'll get back in a band, but mainly get put off by the thought of having to carry my kit around.

Despite having been an Art Director, I still enjoy hands-on art creation and computer graphics in general. It's important to me not to lose touch with the craft that has kept me inspired throughout my career, and to keep abreast of current CG techniques.
